Overview
The Façade
Renovation of Nora Plaza was the second phase of a multi-phase development to
improve the retail experience at Nora Plaza, a regional shopping center that was
purchased by PK Partners in 2004 and then partially sold in 2007. As a part of
the re-development of the shopping center, PK Partners removed the outdated and
deteriorating EIFS canopy and column wraps that were first installed in the
late-1980's and then were cosmetically modified in 2003. The majority of
existing structural support was salvaged for reuse. PK Partners replaced the
EIFS with new cultured stone columns and a dark bronze anodized aluminum fascia,
both of which were installed over the existing structure. PK Partners also
removed portions of the canopies and replaced them with awnings to increase the
visual diversity of the very lengthy façade.
Nora Plaza Shopping
Center is located on 86th Street at Evergreen Road and is approximately 2 miles
west of the Keystone at the Crossing Shopping area. The center is anchored by
Target, as well as Whole Foods Market, PNC Bank, Marshall's, Goodman Shoes, Cord
Camera, and Starbucks. Nora Plaza is located in a very densely populated area
with traffic counts on 86th Street of more than 40,000 cars per day. Nora Plaza
is an excellent location with mature established shopping patterns and a nice
variety of national, regional, and local tenants flavoring the center.
